   Condition the stems

   Strip lower foliage, cut on an angle and rest everything in cool water for at least 4 hours.

   Build a spiral base

   Start with three garden roses in one hand and add stems at a consistent angle, rotating the bunch after each addition.

   Set the dahlias

   Place the café au lait dahlias slightly proud of the surface at uneven heights so they read as focal points.

   Weave in texture

   Tuck sweet pea and wax flower into the gaps, letting a few stems break the silhouette for movement.

   Collar with greenery

   Add eucalyptus around the outer edge, then tie with floral tape and finish with ribbon.

Best assembled the morning of. Keep in 2 inches of water until 30 minutes before the ceremony.
